Onboarding
Set up your workspace step by step
When you first sign up for Flowback, you're guided through a multi-step onboarding wizard that sets up your workspace, creates your first feedback channel, and optionally connects your integrations. The wizard ensures everything is configured correctly before you start collecting feedback.
Step 1: Welcome
The first screen introduces Flowback and what to expect during setup. Click Continue to begin.
Step 2: Brand your workspace
Personalize your workspace so your feedback forms match your brand:
- Workspace name — Your company or product name. This appears on your feedback forms and in the dashboard.
- Logo — Upload your logo (PNG, JPG, or SVG). This is displayed on your feedback forms next to your workspace name.
- Accent color — Choose a color that matches your brand. This is used for buttons and highlights on your feedback forms.
Your workspace slug is automatically generated from your name (e.g., "Acme Corp" becomes acme-corp). You can change it later in Settings.
Step 3: Create your first channel
Channels are the core of feedback collection. During onboarding, you'll create your first one:
- Channel name — e.g., "Product Feedback", "Bug Reports"
- Category tags — Select which types of feedback this channel collects. Options include Bug, Feature Request, UX Improvement, and more. The AI uses these to ask relevant follow-up questions.
- Visibility — Public channels are accessible to anyone with the link. Private channels require an access code.
Step 4: Connect integrations
This step lets you connect Flowback to your existing tools. All integrations are optional and can be set up later:
- Linear — Connect your Linear workspace to automatically create issues from feedback
- GitHub — Connect a repository to give the AI context about your codebase
- Slack — Connect a Slack workspace for real-time notifications
Each integration uses OAuth — you'll be redirected to the respective service to authorize access, then returned to Flowback.
Step 5: Complete
That's it! Once you complete the wizard, you're taken to your dashboard where you can:
- View your feedback form URL and share it
- Access the Submissions inbox
- Configure additional settings
The onboarding wizard only appears once. All settings configured during onboarding can be changed later from the Settings and Integrations pages.
Skipping steps
If you need to leave partway through onboarding, your progress is saved. When you log back in, you'll be returned to the onboarding wizard to complete the remaining steps. The wizard checks your workspace state and skips any steps that are already complete.
