Onboarding

Set up your workspace step by step

When you first sign up for Flowback, you're guided through a four-step onboarding wizard that sets up your workspace and creates your first feedback channel. Complete all four steps to reach your dashboard.

Step 1: Company info

Fill in the details Flowback needs to personalize your experience:

  • Company name (required) — Your company or product name. This is used as your workspace name throughout the dashboard.
  • Company website — Your public URL (optional but recommended).
  • What does your company do? — A short description of your product or service. The AI uses this to ask smarter, more relevant follow-up questions when collecting feedback.

Step 2: Brand

Personalize how your public feedback forms look:

  • Logo — Upload a PNG, JPG, or SVG (max 500 KB, up to 500×500 px). Displayed on your feedback forms.
  • Accent color — Choose a brand color used for buttons and highlights on your forms.
  • Brand theme — Select dark or light as the default appearance for your public forms.

Step 3: Create your first channel

Channels are how you organize feedback collection. During onboarding you'll create your first one:

  • Channel name — e.g., "Product Feedback" or "Bug Reports"
  • TypeExternal (for customers or beta users) or Internal (for your team). This controls who the channel is intended for.

Category tags default to Bug, Feature, UX, and General. You can customize them later in channel settings.

Tip
Start with a general "Product Feedback" channel. You can create more focused channels once you're up and running.

Step 4: Complete

That's it! Once you complete the wizard, you're taken to your dashboard where you can:

  • View your feedback form URL and share it
  • Access the Submissions inbox
  • Connect integrations (Linear, GitHub, Slack, Jira, Sentry, PostHog) from the Integrations page
  • Configure additional settings

All settings configured during onboarding can be changed later from the Settings and Integrations pages.

Leaving before you finish

Onboarding progress is not saved between sessions. If you leave before completing all four steps, you'll return to the beginning of the wizard when you next log in.
