Jira
Create Jira issues from feedback with two-way sync
The Jira integration turns feedback submissions into Jira issues automatically. Flowback creates an issue in the project you choose — with the full PRD, a priority, and labels — and keeps status and comments in sync between Jira and Flowback. Jira is available on the Team and Business plans.
Connecting Jira
To connect Jira:
- Navigate to Integrations in your dashboard
- Click Connect on the Jira card
- You'll be redirected to Atlassian to authorize Flowback
- Grant the requested permissions
- Choose your site — If your Atlassian account has more than one Jira site, pick the one you want to connect. If you only have one, it's selected automatically
One Jira site is connected per workspace. Flowback sets up status syncing for you automatically when you connect.
Configuration
After connecting, configure the integration on the Jira settings page:
- Default project — The Jira project new issues are created in
- Issue type — The issue type used when creating issues (for example Task, Story, or Bug)
- Status mappings — Match your Flowback statuses to Jira workflow statuses. Flowback seeds sensible defaults (To Do, In Progress, Done) that you can adjust at any time
- What gets added to each issue — Toggle whether to prefix the summary with a reference number, add a source label (Internal/External), add a category label, and set priority. These are on by default
What gets created
When Flowback pushes a submission to Jira, it creates an issue with:
- Summary — The issue title, optionally prefixed with a reference number like
[REF-123] - Description — The full PRD, formatted natively in Jira, with links to any uploaded screenshots
- Priority — Mapped from the Flowback priority (Urgent → Highest, High → High, Medium → Medium, Low → Low)
- Labels — Your default labels, plus an optional source label (Internal or External) and a category label
Two-way status sync
Once an issue is linked, it stays in sync in both directions:
- Moving a linked issue in Jira updates the matching status in Flowback
- Moving an issue in Flowback transitions it in Jira (or archives/deletes it) using your status mappings
- New comments on a linked issue are mirrored between Jira and the Flowback portal thread
Disconnecting
You can disconnect Jira at any time from the Integrations page. Disconnecting:
- Stops new issues from being created and ends two-way sync
- Does not delete any existing Jira issues
- Does not delete any submissions in Flowback
You can reconnect at any time and reconfigure your project, issue type, and status mappings.
