Linear

Auto-create Linear issues from feedback

The Linear integration is Flowback's most powerful connection. It automatically creates Linear issues from feedback submissions, complete with structured PRDs, priority levels, labels, and attachments. Your engineering team gets actionable issues in their backlog without any manual work.

Connecting Linear

To connect Linear:

  1. Navigate to Integrations in your dashboard
  2. Click Connect Linear
  3. You'll be redirected to Linear to authorize Flowback
  4. Grant the requested permissions (read, write, issues:create)
  5. You'll be redirected back to Flowback

After connecting, you'll need to configure which Linear team and project to use. The integration page shows all available teams from your Linear workspace.

Configuration

After connecting, configure the integration:

  • Default team — Select the Linear team where issues are created by default
  • Default project — Optionally select a project within the team
  • Per-channel routing — Override the default team/project for specific channels in channel settings
Tip
Use per-channel routing to send bug reports to your Engineering team and feature requests to your Product team. Each channel can target a different Linear team and project.

What gets created

When a submission is created (or approved in Split & Review mode), Flowback creates a Linear issue with:

  • Title — In the format [REF-123] Issue title with a unique reference number
  • Description — The full PRD markdown, including problem statement, user story, steps to reproduce, acceptance criteria, and reporter information
  • Priority — Mapped from the AI-suggested priority (P0 → Urgent, P1 → High, P2 → Medium, P3 → Low, P4 → No priority)
  • Labels — Automatically created and assigned:
    • Source label (Internal or External)
    • Category label (Bug, Feature Request, UX, etc.)
    • Priority label (P0-P4)
  • Attachments — Links to any uploaded screenshots or documents

Multi-issue support

When a channel uses Auto-Split mode, a single feedback conversation can create multiple Linear issues — one for each distinct feedback item the AI identifies. Each issue gets its own PRD, priority, and labels.

The submission record in Flowback tracks all created Linear issues, so you can see the full set of issues generated from a single conversation.

Disconnecting

You can disconnect Linear at any time from the Integrations page. Disconnecting:

  • Stops new issues from being created automatically
  • Does not delete any existing Linear issues
  • Does not delete any submissions in Flowback
  • Removes the stored OAuth tokens

You can reconnect at any time. After reconnecting, use the Push to Linear button on individual submissions to create issues for feedback collected while disconnected.
