Get notified and triage from Slack

The Slack integration keeps your team informed about incoming feedback in real-time. Get notified when new submissions arrive, triage priority directly from Slack, and configure digest schedules to stay on top of feedback trends.

Connecting Slack

  1. Navigate to Integrations in your dashboard
  2. Click Connect Slack
  3. Authorize Flowback in your Slack workspace
  4. Select a default Slack channel for notifications

Notification settings

After connecting, you can configure how and when you're notified:

SettingDescription
Notify on submissionSend a notification for every new submission
Priority thresholdOnly notify for submissions at or above a certain priority (e.g., P2 and above)
Default Slack channelThe channel where notifications are posted by default
Per-channel Slack routingOverride the default channel for specific feedback channels
Priority @mentionsTag specific people or groups when high-priority feedback comes in

Notification content

Each Slack notification includes:

  • Submitter name and email
  • Priority badge with emoji and color
  • A summary of the PRD (first 300 characters)
  • A link to view the full submission in the Flowback dashboard
  • A priority dropdown to change the priority directly from Slack
Note
When you change priority from the Slack dropdown, it updates both the Flowback submission and the corresponding Linear issue (if connected).

Priority @mentions

You can configure specific Slack @mentions based on priority level. For example:

  • P0 (Critical) → @oncall-engineering
  • P1 (High) → @product-lead
  • P2 (Medium) → No special mention

This ensures the right people are notified immediately when high-priority feedback arrives.

Digest notifications

In addition to real-time notifications, you can enable periodic digests:

  • Daily digest — A summary of the day's submissions posted at a time you configure (e.g., 9 AM every morning)
  • Weekly digest — A weekly summary posted on a specific day and time (e.g., Monday at 10 AM)

Digests include submission counts, priority breakdowns, top categories, and trend data. They're a great way to keep leadership informed without flooding channels with individual notifications.

Slack channel routing

You can route notifications from different feedback channels to different Slack channels:

  • Set a default Slack channel in the Slack integration settings
  • Override per feedback channel in each channel's settings

For example, route bug reports to #engineering-bugs and feature requests to #product-requests.
